HEALTH INSURANCE (FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY)
The Agency offers a health insurance plan with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield for the employee and their eligible dependents. The plan requires a contribution by the employee. The amount of the contribution depends on the type of coverage the employee chooses. Employee contributions for health insurance will be on a pre-tax basis.
Health insurance coverage becomes effective on the 1st of the month in which you reach your 91st day of full-time employment. Part-time employees will be offered health insurance if during an established Initial Measurement Period, average hours worked are 30 hours per week.
DENTAL
INSURANCE (FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY) Step By Step, Inc. provides dental
insurance through United Concordia for the employee. Coverage becomes effective on the 1st of the month in which
you reach your 91st day of full-time employment. Eligible employees may also purchase coverage
for their dependents through payroll deduction when the employee becomes

INSURANCE (FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY) Step By Step, Inc. provides vision
insurance through Vision Benefits of America for the employee.
Coverage becomes effective on
the 1st of the month in which you reach your 91st day of
full-time employment. Eligible
employees may also purchase coverage for their dependents through payroll
deduction when the employee becomes eligible for vision insurance. Employee Only: 100% Compaid Paid Benefit
FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT (FSA) (FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY)
The Agency offers a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plan which allows you to designate a set amount of money each plan year to be deducted from your pay check. The money withheld is set aside on a pre-tax basis which reduces your taxable income. Money deposited into your FSA Account can be used towards medical/dental expenses, dependent care expenses, parking and mass transit expenses. Participation in this plan is voluntary. Employees will be eligible on the 1st of the month in which they reach their 91st day of full-time employment.
LIFE INSURANCE (FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY)
Step By Step, Inc. provides a life insurance policy through Unum for the employee and pays the entire premium. The coverage equals an amount equal to your base annual salary, rounded up to the next thousand dollars. Coverage becomes effective on the 1st of the month in which you reach your 91st day of full-time employment.
VOLUNTARY LIFE AND AD&D INSURANCE (FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY)
Employees have the opportunity to purchase additional life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance for themselves and for their eligible dependents through Unum on a voluntary basis through payroll deduction. Coverage for dependent children can be purchased up to age 19. Full-time students who are dependent children can be covered to age 26. It is the responsibility of the employee to notify the HR Department once a child reaches the cut off age for coverage. This plan is provided through Unum. Coverage becomes effective on the 1st of the month in which you reach your 91st day of full-time employment.
LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE (FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY)
This benefit provides a monthly income benefit equal to 60% of the base salary for employees who are unable to work due to a non-occupational illness or injury, subject to approval by the insurance carrier. Step By Step pays the premium for this coverage which is through Unum. Coverage becomes effective on the 1st of the month in which you reach your 91st day of full-time employment.
SHORT TERM DISABILITY AND ACCIDENT INSURANCE (FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY)
Employees have the opportunity to purchase short term disability insurance for themselves and/or accident insurance for themselves and for their eligible dependents on a voluntary basis through payroll deduction. Accident insurance for dependent children can be purchased up to age 26. These plans are provided through Aflac. Short term disability insurance and accident insurance becomes effective on the 1st of the month in which you reach your 91st day of full-time employment.
RETIREMENT PLAN
Step By Step, Inc. contributes a percentage of the employee’s salary to a profit-sharing retirement account through Empower. This is money above and beyond the employee’s earnings. No money is deducted from the employee’s paycheck.
Each plan year, Step By Step will determine the percentage that will be contributed to the plan. At minimum, a 3% contribution will be made to the participating employee’s account. The employee must be in an active employment status each June 30th, to receive a contribution for the plan year.
There is a one (1) year waiting period for all new employees to be enrolled in the plan.TAX
SHELTERED ANNUITY: Step By Step,
Inc. offers employees the opportunity to contribute money into a Tax Sheltered
Annuity (TSA) with Lincoln Financial.
All employees are eligible to participate upon hire. Participation in the plan is voluntary and
contributions can be made through payroll deduction. CREDIT
UNION: The
Agency has an agreement with a credit union.
Employees can join and participate in this benefit for a slight
fee. There are a multitude of services
available through the Credit Union. ANNUAL LEAVE
(VACATION TIME ) (FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY) Annual
leave is planned leave that is earned on a weekly basis and is used by the
employee with prior approval of the employee’s immediate supervisor. This benefit is calculated on a calendar year
basis. During
your first year of employment, you begin to accrue annual leave in the fourth
(4th) month of service. The
rates of earning annual leave are as follows: 40 HOUR EMPLOYEE 37.5

TIME (FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY) Our
Agency stresses that sick leave be
used for legitimate purposes only and not abused. You earn .92 hours per week (40 hour
employees) or .87 hours per week (37.5 hour employees). You may accrue up to a maximum of 840 sick hours. Your supervisor may request a doctor’s note
at any time. HOLIDAYS
(FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY) There
are 11 paid holidays. This includes one
floating holiday, which is designated each year by the President/CEO. Employees
who work an Agency observed holiday will be paid a premium rate one and
one-half (1½) times their base hourly rate for all hours worked (fulltime and
part-time employees). In addition,
full-time employees also receive pay equivalent to the amount they would have
received for normally scheduled work days (7.5 hours for a 37.5 hour/week
employee and 8 hours for a 40 hour/week employee). For example, if you are a full-time, 40
hour/week employee scheduled to work a 10 hour shift on an Agency recognized
holiday, you would be paid 10 hours at time and a half of your base rate, plus
8 hours straight time. If you are a
full-time, 40 hour/week employee and you are not scheduled to work that day,
you would receive 8 hours at your base rate (7.5 hours for a 37.5 hour/week
employee).
