Hiring Direct Support Staff for North West Philadelphia County -Ridge Ave

We are in search of reliable, energetic, patient, and compassionate people to work in a cohesive team to provide supports to adults with Developmental Disabilities. The DSS supports those in our care to reach their highest potential by providing them with assistance to achieve their goals and their daily activities. Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills are critical in this line of work. Computer Literacy skills is essential.

All Team Members must:

· be 18 years of age or older

· have a current driver's license with no suspensions or points within the past three years

· possess a high school diploma or GED

· have no prohibitive criminal offenses

· be available to work on weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene (showering, brushing teeth), dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility .
  • Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
  • Engage individual in social and recreational activities to promote independence and enhance quality of life.
  • Monitor individual for any changes in behavior or health status, reporting concerns to the appropriate staff members.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages client participation and empowerment.
  • Perform First aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all clients.
  • Pass the ODP medication administration training
  • Document on daily progress of goals and overall care 
  • Excellent Communication Skills-Verbal and Written
