Job description:
The Program Manager maintains the overall administrative and supervisory responsibilities for all quality aspects of Community Residential Programs operated by Step By Step, Inc. in Montgomery County.
This position also supervises Program Supervisors and Direct Support Staff who are engaged in assisting program participants to live and function as independently as possible within the community in accordance with the everyday Lives Principles working in assigned homes. This is a salaried position.
- Responsible for supervision of employees working at assigned residential programs.
- Ensures employees working at assigned residential programs follow the principles of Normalization, Positive Approaches and the principles elaborated on in Everyday Lives.
- Under the direction of the Program Specialist, carries out disciplinary actions as needed.
- Schedules and facilitates staff meetings at assigned locations.
- Actively participates in interviewing and the selection of new employees for assigned residential homes.
- Facilitates site orientation training for all new employees working at assigned residential homes.
- Works with the Training Coordinator to ensure employee training requirements are met, and that additional training is assigned as needed to support the professional development of all assigned employees.
- Uses role modeling and hands on training at the program location to enhance employee skill level.
- Monitors employee performance and provides timely feedback to assigned staff.
- Assists supervised employees in the continuation of their professional growth and helps them keep current in the field of Developmental Disabilities.
- Uses adopted electronic scheduling platform to develop and monitor employee work schedule for assigned residential homes.
- Review residential schedules on a regular basis to ensure adequate site coverage and maximum service delivery. Updates electronic schedule templates as needed and communicates changes/staffing needs to HR Generalist.
- Reviews and approves all schedule changes and timesheet submissions for assigned residential homes.
- Monitors and approves all employee leave requests for assigned residential homes in a manner that ensures adequate program coverage.
- Monitors over-time and use of temporary staff for assigned residential homes.
- Fulfills on-call responsibilities,
- Conducts weekly site inspections, using PUPS Inspection Tool, for assigned residential homes to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Ensures the homes maintain a "homelike" atmosphere.
- Ensures the exterior/interior of the home is clean and attractive, along with a safe and healthy environment.
- Assurance that assigned residential programs meet all local, state, federal and fire and safety requirements.
- Purchases necessary household supplies within established budget parameters.
- Verifies and authorizes the accurate calculation of the daily census.
- Works in collaboration with Program Specialist to ensure that individual Electronic Health Record is maintained accurately, and that all pertinent information is uploaded into the system in a timely manner.
- Ensures the timely submission of vehicle inspections, receipts, petty cash logs, and information pertaining to client funds, as appropriate.
- Submits requests for maintenance needs at assigned residential homes.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in medication administration and caregiving practices
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate staff effectively
- Knowledge of budgeting principles and financial management
- Understanding of individual rights and regulations governing residential programs
-Must be willing and able to participate in on-call and work occasional varying shifts including weekends
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Clean Background Check
- Education requirements include High School Diploma/GED, Preferred an associate degree from an accredited college/university or 60 credits plus 2 years experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities
